Tornado Luxembourg started the season with solid 6-3 win against Reims Phenix on Saturday evening at Kockelscheuer.

Tornado came to the game with a full roster so the clear aim was to keep high tempo through the game. It was pleasure to see that Tornado's youngsters have raised their hockey to the new level. Especially the attacking line where Oliver Biver together with Kraval brothers continuously caused problems to Reims' defenders.

It was exactly this line who were first to get their names to the scoresheet. After good back checking Oliver Biver stole the puck on the neutral zone, created a counter attack, shared the puck to Jiri Kraval who used his scoring senses and sent the puck to the net with nice wrister.

Tornado were controlling the game most of the period but by the time Reims started to get into the game as well. One and half minute before the end Reims managed to tie the game. So on teams went for the break with 1-1 result on the scoreboard.

In the second period Reims got more control to the game. Thanks to numerous penalties for Tornado. In the half way of the period visitors took 2-1 lead by scoring on the power play. Luckily already in the next shift, Vesa Hirvonen showed some individual effor and tied up the game. Only one minut after teams experienced members showed their skills when Robo Beran scored 3rd goal for Tornado. The beautiful pass for the goal was done by Ossi Uotila.

In the third period it was Reims' turn to take penalties and in ten minutes Tornado had already scored three more goals. Goals were made by Sacha Backes, David Muller in his debut game and again Vesa Hirvonen. After that Tornado could play a bit more reliefed. Reims manage to score one more goal but thanks to the penalties they never got a real change to fight for the win.

Tornado's game looked very good taking account that it was first game of the season. Next game will be played 8th of October when always strong Valenciennes will make a visit to Kockelsheuer.
