Cannon, Tornado Luxembourg surge past Hiversport Huskies Luxembourg, 17-1

The Tornado Luxembourg hosted the Hiversport Huskies Luxembourg in the Patinoire Kockelscheuer in Alter Domus Cup action on February 26th, where the home team turned it up a notch and pounded the Hiversport Huskies Luxembourg, 17-1. Colm Cannon reached the 60-point milestone for this season with 8 points in this game. Teemu Hinkula reached the 25-point mark for this season with 5 points in this game.



The home team was stronger than their opponent in the first period. Marcus Eriksson scored the opening goal of the game for the hosts at 1:47 on a feed from Teemu Hinkula. The home team held on to their lead and kept control of the game throughout the third and last period. Another goal came at 47:44, when Mathieu Moise scored for the hosts. Only 54 seconds later, Georges Scheier added another goal to the sheet. Steven Minden scored another goal for the hosts at 50:36. The hosts kept the momentum on their side, as Sacha Backes scored only 44 seconds later. Only 2 minutes later, Teemu Hinkula added another goal to the sheet. At 55:30, Colm Cannon scored another goal for the Tornado Luxembourg. Only 3 minutes later, Mathieu Moise added another goal to the sheet. The hosts kept their pace and Colm Cannon scored only 1 minute later on an assist by Georges Scheier and Marcus Eriksson. The teams were heading home with a 17-1 score.



Topscorer of the game was Colm Cannon of the Tornado Luxembourg with 8 points. Some players attracted attention by breaking personal season-highs, namely Mathieu Moise (3 points) and François Schons (2 points). With yet another win, the Tornado Luxembourg continue their winning record over the Hiversport Huskies Luxembourg, as they now won all of these two team's last 3 encounters. On February 28th the Tornado Luxembourg will face the IHC Beaufort II, whereas the Hiversport Huskies Luxembourg meet with the IHC Beaufort II on March 7th.
