Teemu Hinkula leads Tornado Luxembourg past Remparts de Besançon, 5-2

On November 10th the Remparts de Besançon visited the Tornado Luxembourg in the Patinoire Kockelscheuer, where the guest lost 5-2.



The home team was stronger than their opponent in the first period. Teemu Hinkula scored the opening goal of the game for the hosts at 1:09 on a pass by Ronny Scheier. It was Dany Parra who tied the game at 12:07 on an assist by Lukas Frank. Teemu Hinkula tallied for the hosts at 18:25 on a pass by Marcus Eriksson. At the end of the first, the score was 2-1, giving the home team the lead.



The home team didn't change it's game and hold on to the lead during the second period. Teemu Hinkula tallied again for the Tornado Luxembourg at 30:12 after being assisted by Marcus Eriksson, making it his first hattrick of the season. 11 minutes after the puck last crossed the goal line, Mathieu Jouham scored the 3-2 on a feed from Charles Edouard Kipfer. With two periods played, the score was 3-1.



The hosts proved to be the better team and held on to their lead throughout the last period. Sacha Backes of the Tornado Luxembourg made it 4-2 at 55:29. The hosts continued their run, as Colm Cannon scored the 5-2 on a feed from Teemu Hinkula and Marcus Eriksson. At the final whistle, the score was 5-2.



"We made the game harder for ourselves by getting a huge amount of penalties. Luckily Philippe Lepage was like a wall in the net and gave us a chance to win. The sad part is that due to the numerous penalties, many guys didn't get the ice time that they would have earned.", said Topscorer Teemu Hinkula of the Tornado Luxembourg.



Best scorer of the game was Teemu Hinkula of the Tornado Luxembourg with 4 points. Out of these two teams' last 3 encounters, Remparts de Besançon won 66.67% of the games (2 out of 3). The Tornados now find themselves on the 4th place in the standings out of eight, which does put them on a playoff spot for the moment. On November 15th the Tornado Luxembourg will face the Hiversport Huskies Luxembourg, whilst for the Remparts de Besançon, the Tornado Luxembourg will be next on February 16th.
