VETERANS DAY HOCKEY GAME

09 November 2017

On November 11, 2017, also known as Veterans Day, Tornado Luxembourg, in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg, is going to play a friendly game against the Spangdahlem Air Base Varsity Ice Hockey Team in honor of veterans, and the U.S. armed forces, and he brave soldiers of both WW1 and WW2. Although such games are pretty common in the North American NHL, it’s the first time that such a game will be played in Luxembourg.

Tornado Luxembourg, together with its partners, likes to consider this game as a great opportunity to honor and remember those who put their lives at risk to defend and upheld the principles of freedom and democracy around the world.
The Veterans Day Hockey Game will take place at the Kockelscheuer Ice Rink on Saturday November 11, 2017 from 19:00 to 22:30. The event will begin with a small opening ceremony honoring those courageous young men and women who followed the “call.”

Entry tickets will cost 5 euros each. Children under 12 will be free. Since all entrance proceeds will be given to charity, there is however a possibility to give more. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Free 24 hour parking will be accessible at P&R Kockelscheuer.

Tornado Luxembourg, in association with the U.S. Embassy, has created a Facebook Event for “Veterans Day Hockey Game” which will provide anyone interested in attending with all the need information. The event can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1792517337712344/?ti=cl
