Spring is in the Air, and So is Playoff Hockey! Tornado Hosts Roanne in Game 1

Not only are the days getting longer and the weather warmer, but the true sign of the spring has finally arrived: Playoff Hockey is here! After grinding out a 6th-place finish in a fiercely competitive Group North, Tornado Luxembourg is ready to wipe the slate clean. The regular season is history, and the quest for the championship begins this Saturday, February 28th, with Game 1 of the Round of 16 at Kockelscheuer.

The opponent? The formidable Renards de Roanne.
Finishing 3rd in Group B, the Renards are no strangers to Tornado. We crossed paths with them last season in the Coupe de France and suffered a defeat.
However, that was a different time. Tornado has matured significantly at this level since that encounter, adapting to the pace and physicality of Division 2.
The Foxes of Group B will still be a massive test. They were part of a clear top-four breakaway in their group that distanced themselves from the rest of the pack. They boast a high-powered offense capable of punishing mistakes, while simultaneously being one of the most stingy defensive teams in the league. Breaking through their structure will require patience and discipline.

The Tornado Mindset: Anyone Can Be Beaten
Yes, the opponent is tough. But if there is one thing we know about the playoffs, it’s that they are full of surprises—and Kockelscheuer is where surprises happen.
Tornado has proven time and time again this season that when they put on their "blue working dress" and play their structured game, they can skate with and defeat absolutely anyone in this league. From upsetting 2nd-place Brest to taking the group leaders to the wire, this team knows how to rise to the occasion.
Coach Eriksson’s squad showed massive character last week, rallying from a 2-0 deficit against a top goaltender to force overtime in Châlons. They will need that exact relentless push for a full 60 minutes this Saturday.
