The Tornado Luxembourg visited the Aigles de Besançon on February 16th in the Patinoire de Lafayette, where a tight game took place that ended with a 4-4 score.

The game started off very tight. Franckie Vidal scored the opening goal of the game for the hosts at 5:08 on an assist by Arthur Pellissier. The tie came only 2 minutes later, as Marcus Eriksson scored the 1-1 on a pass by Georges Scheier. At 12:58, it was Thomas Jouham who then put the puck in the net for the hosts on a feed from Julien Joly. But the answer came quick, as François Schons tied the game at 13:15 after being assisted by Mathieu Moise. At the end of the first period, both teams were still leveled as the score was 2-2.

The home team started taking over the game in the second period. Fabien Dikongue scored at 25:04 to make it 3-2 on a feed from Julien Joly. With 2 periods played, the score was 3-2.

The visiting team didn't abandon the field though and got back in the game for the last period. Thibaut Creuze tallied again for the Aigles de Besançon at 40:56. At 44:45, it was Marcus Eriksson who then put the puck in the net for the guests. Georges Scheier put a shot past the goaltender to tie it at 59:15 on an assist by Colm Cannon and Marcus Eriksson. The score was 4-4 at the end of the final period.

Best scorer of the game was Marcus Eriksson of the Tornado Luxembourg with 3 points. The Tornados took home one point and thereby finish the season on the fifth spot, passing Chalons on 6th position by one point and Besançon on the 7th with three points. The regular season in division 3 is thereby over, and the Tornados missed the playoffs by just one spot.

From now on, the team will focus on the Alter Domus Cup, where the Tornados are currently 1st, and some players will even have to start preparing for the upcoming World Championships Div III in South Africa. Next on the schedule for the Tornado Luxembourg is the Puckers Luxembourg on February 19th.
