Tornado introduces new head coach

23 August 2009

Luxembourg's #1 icehockey team is happy to announce that the Federation has signed a contract with a new head coach for the 2009/2010 season.

Karl Kuhnen is a 57 year old Canadian originally from Ontario Canada with over 30 years of coaching experience. He was himself a professional goalie for teams like the Cleveland Barons (WHL) and EVR Ravensburg (Germany). With a USA Hockey Master Coaching License Level 5, he has the necessary credentials to coach not only Tornado, but also the Luxembourg National Team.
For the past 3 years, Karl has been busy designing his own patented skate technology based on the theory of heat transfer towards the blade of the skate.

Tornado is hopeful that a new, more North-American coaching style will bring success to the club and will help the team to match and exceed its great performance in the Division 3 of the French Ligue de l'Est of last season.
