Tornado Luxembourg Crushes Corsaires Dunkerque II, 11-5

For the 2013-2014 season opener on September 28th, the Tornado Luxembourg hosted the Corsaires Dunkerque II in the Patinoire Kockelscheuer, where the Corsaires Dunkerque II were resoundingly defeated 11-5 by their host. It was a game full of highlights, with Hinkula scoring a Hattrick and Captain R. Scheier leading his team with 5 points. The Tornados started with three lines, missing only the two new import players Vesa Hirvonen (illness) and Alexander Hakansson (license not transferred yet).
It all looked very balanced in the first period. It was Teemu Hinkula who opened the scoring for the hosts at 7:33 on an assist by Georges Scheier and Emil Folkesson. Benjamin Louf brought his team back to the game by scoring the tying goal on a feed from Clément Derepper. At the end of the first period, both teams were still leveled as the score was 1-1.
The home team started taking over the game in the second period. Marcus Eriksson of the Tornado Luxembourg scored the 2-1 at 25:24 on a break-away pass by Yannick Hamri. Colm Cannon tallied again for the Tornado Luxembourg at 28:53 after being assisted by Yannick Hamri. Benjamin Turpin of the Corsaires Dunkerque II made it 3-2 at 35:12 on a pass by Clément Derepper. The answer came only 1 minute later, as Toni Jakubse scored for his team. Only 1 minute later, Benjamin Turpin scored for Dunkerque. The Tornado Luxembourg didn't take long to retaliate, as Colm Cannon scored 52 seconds later. Emil Folkesson added another goal only 1 minute later. Just 2 minutes later, it was Benjamin Louf who found the back of the net for the Corsaires Dunkerque II. At the end of the second, the score was 6-3.
The home team held on to their lead and kept control of the game throughout the third and last period. Georges Scheier tallied for the hosts at 41:42. The hosts continued their run, as Teemu Hinkula scored the 8-4. Another goal followed quickly after, as Yannick Hamri scored another one for his team. At 49:21, it was Yannick Hamri who put the puck in the net again for the hosts. Marc Leroux scored a goal for the Corsaires Dunkerque II at 52:55. Teemu Hinkula of the Tornado Luxembourg scored the 11-5, and thereby a sensational Hattrick to open his season, at 59:40. "It feels good to start the season with a win in front of our home audience. This was one of the most physical games I have played in this league so far, and I think that was a positive thing. Anyway it caused lots of penalties for us too. In the future we should keep our heads cool. Furthermore, our opponent's goalies didn't have their best day in the net, which might have helped us a bit.", Teemu Hinkula of the Tornado Luxembourg said. The score was 11-5 at the end of the final period.
Best scorer of the game was Captain Ronny Scheier of the Tornado Luxembourg with 5 points (all assists). With yet another win, the Tornado Luxembourg continue their winning record over the Corsaires Dunkerque II, as they now won all of these two team's last 3 encounters. The Tornado Luxembourg will play their next game on October 5th against the Gaulois Chalons.
