On October 20th in the Patinoire cité des Glaces, the Gaulois Chalons played the Tornado Luxembourg, where the Tornado Luxembourg were resoundingly defeated 7-1 by their host. Both teams did their best to entertain the 320 spectators that attended the game.

The home team was stronger than their opponent in the first period. Richard Zavodny opened the scoring for the hosts at 19:11 on an assist by Arnaud Briand. "We started the first period well, only conceding one goal and playing a tight defence.", said Colm Cannon of the Tornado Luxembourg. At the end of the first, the home team was leading 1-0.

The home team didn't give up on the lead and kept dominating the game throughout the second period. The hosts continued their run, as Marek Hanes scored the 2-0 on a pass by Richard Zavodny. Julien Maire added another goal only 3 minutes later. The 3-1 was scored by Marcus Eriksson on a feed from Colm Cannon. "It seemed like we had gotten rid of the bus legs and would come out ready for the second period. Unfortunately we seemed to be lacking the drive to score and conceded 2 more in the second period leading to frustration and a loss of discipline and structure to the game.", Colm Cannon of the Tornado Luxembourg said. At the end of the second, the score was 3-1.

The hosts proved to be the better team and held on to their lead throughout the last period. At 42:22, Arnaud Briand scored the 4th goal for the Gaulois Chalons on a pass by Lois Paroissien. Another goal came at 45:35, when Marek Hanes scored for the hosts. Another goal followed quickly after, as Gaetan Tourte scored another one for his team. Lois Paroissien scored the 7th goal for his team on a pass by Florent Domaine and Albin Terrenoire. At the final whistle, the score was 7-1. "We will have to learn from this and take away the lessons for the next game.", Colm Cannon of the Tornado Luxembourg said. Ronny Scheier of the Tornado Luxembourg commented: "We need to keep working on our system, we only hit the ice for the first time few weeks ago and that's simply not enough! Our new coach has changed a lot of things, it will take some more time until the new system becomes routine. A second major problem is that we take to much penalties! You cannot win a game if you're not five players on the ice. But if we keep working on these issues, I am sure we will have a good season!".

Richard Zavodny and Arnaud Briand were the topscorers of the game with 3 points each. For the Tornado Luxembourg, tonight's game was not a reflection of their usual offensive and defensive standard. The facts that their 7 points against are above this season's average of 3.67 and the 1 points scored are below the average 4.33 points, show that they were simply not playing their game. With yet another win, the Gaulois Chalons continue their winning record over the Tornado Luxembourg, as they now won all of these two team's last 7 encounters. Next on the schedule for the Tornado Luxembourg is the HC Metz on October 25th.
