On November 30th in their own building, the Tornado Luxembourg played the Diables Rouges Valenciennes, where the visiting team won 1-2 in an extremely tight, but not hard fought game.

Team captain Ronny Scheier had the following to say: "It wasn't easy to get back to our game after having almost a month break since our last game. It took us up to the third period to find back the harmony between the players! Still this wasn't enough to beat Valenciennes. Their game was faster than ours and they managed to break ours pretty easily. The game was tight throughout the whole sixty minutes but in the end Valenciennes didn't give up their lead no matter how hard we tried. It would have been important for us to win this game to keep our second place in the league. Now we need to focus on the next games and make sure to win those to make the playoffs!"

It all looked very balanced in the first period. Thomas Fauchart opened the scoring for the guests at 3:19 with a slapshot from the point. Marcus Eriksson brought his team back to the game by scoring the tying goal on a feed from Bob Schneider. The teams were heading into the first intermission with a 1-1 score.

The visiting team started taking over the game in the second period. David Selin of Valenciennes scored the 1-2 at 26:27 on a feed from Lukas Cvejn. The score was 1-2 at the end of the second.

The Tornados didn't manage to bounce back in the third period and couldn't capitalize on their powerplay opportunities. The game ended with the 2-1 score for Valenciennes.

Today's 2 points against are below this season's average of 3.5 but at the same time, the 1 points scored in this game are below the 6.33 season average. Out of these two teams' last 7 encounters, Valenciennes won 57.14% of the games (4 out of 7). The Tornados lost their second place in the standings to Valenciennes and are now on the 3rd rank, one win ahead of runner-up Chalons, which they will play at home next weekend, on 7th December.
