On Saturday, the Tornado organization turned their home rink into a powerful platform for breast cancer awareness, hosting a dedicated “Think Pink” event in collaboration with Think Pink Luxembourg. The organization set up an informational stand where President Carrie Cannon engaged with fans throughout the evening, sharing insights into the impact of breast cancer and the work of Think Pink Luxembourg.

Adding to the evening’s spirit, the Luxembourg Youth Ice Hockey Huskies young girls’ team took to the ice during the first intermission, skating under the rink's pink lights—a thoughtful touch provided by the Kockelscheuer Rink Management. Fans watched in support as they learned more about Think Pink Luxembourg’s mission to raise awareness and support those affected by breast cancer.

The night’s excitement continued in the second intermission with a pink puck toss, where attendees aimed for the center ice marker. Three lucky winners took home Think Pink gift bags, marking a fun and meaningful moment for the crowd.

Christian Sander, Director of Intralux Locations, a proud sponsor of Tornado Luxembourg, attended the game to present the players of the match with a special gift. This recognition underscored Intralux’s commitment to supporting both the team and breast cancer awareness efforts.

Reflecting on the evening, Tornado volunteer rink announcer Mike Mekhaeel shared a heartfelt sentiment, saying, “Despite the result of the hockey match, this was a special night for me. I lost a childhood friend to breast cancer earlier this month, so seeing Tornado use its platform to support organizations like Think Pink Lux truly exemplifies the spirit of caring.”

Through this unforgettable event, Tornado Luxembourg and its community proved that coming together for a cause makes a real impact, one that extends far beyond the ice.
