Tornado Luxembourg battled their way to a hard-fought victory against the Lions de Wasquehal on Saturday night, winning in a penalty shootout. The game was tight from start to finish, with both teams exchanging goals throughout the evening.

Wasquehal took a 4-3 lead with just six minutes remaining, putting Tornado under immense pressure. But Tornado wasn’t ready to back down. Franck Stroppolo tied the game late in regulation, taking full advantage of a power play. With the score at 4-4, the game moved to overtime, where neither team could find the winner.

In the shootout, Tornado kept their cool and secured the victory, earning an important two points in the standings.

After the game, Coach Christer Eriksson praised the team’s effort under difficult circumstances:
"It was a strong victory as more than half of the team is sick at the moment. You could see it on the ice—several players were really struggling—but everyone gave their best. I think our excellent team spirit helped us get this victory in the end."

A special thanks goes out to the Tornado Fangroup, who were present in Wasquehal to cheer on the team. Their support is always appreciated, especially on the road.

Tornado will now prepare for back-to-back home games in the coming weeks, with Français Volants and Courbevoie visiting Luxembourg. Fans will be eager to see the team continue building momentum and chasing their first home victory.

Before the weekend, there will be a renewal of last year's LHL final when Tornado meets Puckers in the practice rink on Wednesday at 20h00. Puckers players are again one year more experienced and it will be interesting to see how they can challenge Tornado this year.
