After a thrilling, nail-biting shootout loss against Orléans on home ice, Tornado Luxembourg is back on the road this weekend. On Saturday, October 24th, the boys travel to face off against Évry-Viry in a crucial Division 2 matchup.
Currently sitting 7th in the highly competitive 10-team Group A with 4 points, Tornado is hungry to turn their strong offensive performances into three points and start climbing the table.
The Opponent: A Strong Start for Évry-Viry
This weekend will be a massive test. The Jets of Évry-Viry have had a very strong start to their 2026-2027 campaign, opening the season with two solid victories. They finally suffered their first defeat just last weekend, but it took a tight overtime battle against Reims to bring them down.
Évry-Viry is a confident, well-structured team that knows how to defend their home ice. To walk away with a victory, Tornado will need to be sharp from the very first puck drop.
The Blueprint: 60 Minutes of Consistency
As Coach Christer Eriksson emphasized after the Orléans game, Tornado has proven they possess the quality, intensity, and offensive firepower to compete with anyone in the league. The challenge now is finding consistency.
To beat a top team like Évry-Viry on the road, Tornado cannot afford to chase the game. They need to limit individual mistakes, stay out of the penalty box, and most importantly, raise their lowest level to deliver a complete, 60-minute performance. If the boys can put on their blue working dress and play a smart, disciplined game, they have all the tools to take control of this matchup.
Game Details & Looking Ahead
This is the first of a tough two-game road trip. Next weekend, the boys will travel to face Reims, the very team that just handed Évry-Viry their first loss.
The team will finally return to the Kockelscheuer Cauldron on Saturday 7 November [Get your Ticket Here!] to host Courbevoie.
