2nd place in Group C will probably be decided between Luxembourg and Viry. Saturday's match was therefore crucial. The aim was to take maximum points from the first leg.

Christer Eriksson took advantage of Henri Öörni's return from injury and the sick players against Meudon last weekend to field 3 lines for this perilous trip. And the Tornados took the game by the scruff of the neck, even if they were still guilty of a lack of discipline (14' penalties vs. 6' for EVH91). Defensively solid in a well-balanced game, the Whites scored the 1st goal through Conor Leonard (16'09), immediately taken by Viry (16'24). After the break, Antoine Thomas added to his tally, enabling the Tornados to win T2. In T3, Conor Leonard opened the scoring (43'43), but Viry scored twice to level the scores and give the spectators a wild last five minutes. Despite being outnumbered, the Tornado clinched victory with Grigorijs Holodkovs on a Colm Canon assist 23 seconds from the buzzer.

The Tornados returned from the Paris region with 3 points, ending 2023 with 21 points in the standings and second place ahead of Viry. The Tornados will need to score again in the remaining 4 regular-season games to secure 2nd place defensively. The Tornado host Viry on February 24 in Kockelscheuer for the final day of Group C in what promises to be a tense encounter. As a reminder, the top 2 places in the ranking qualify for an interclassification match, with the certainty of playing in the D3 1/8th finals. Places 3 to 6 qualify for a play-off match.
